Program Information
The Dallas Mentors is designed for those who are serious about their personal growth and are willing to dedicate a substantial amount of time to their personal development.
The
ongoing Dallas Mentors program is a year long intensive study under
the supervision of senior community members. This program is predicated
on the idea that the dominant personality is ever learning.
We view this program as foundation classes designed to deliver safety
knowledge, an understanding of our complex communities and play skills.
Our focus is to provide you the opportunity to learn the different aspects of our varied culture and develop both safety knowledge and BDSM skills.
The program adopts a three tier approach to training.
Tier 1: - Boot Camp
Tier 2: - One on One Training with a Mentor
Tier 3: - Wrap Up Sessions - Where to go After Training
The program is very comprehensive and requires a time commitment on the part of the participants.
BOOT CAMP
BOOT CAMP is a three month training module designed to provide a solid overview and foundation in the BDSM lifestyle. It is a prerequisite program. Apprentices must pass through this phase before moving on to the core program.
Three Boot Camp Mentors work as a team to guide participants through a regimented study program. The Boot Camp provides a foundation into the mental dominance, D/s relationship building and sexuality and heath within our lifestyle.
Also
included in Boot Camp is the Certified
Dungeon Monitor Training.
All apprentices must pass the Certified
Dungeon Monitor certification process. This two day training program
trains DM's to monitor and work the floor of major events. Content includes
non-crisis intervention, using the WIS system for monitoring play, BDSM
First Aid and the complete American Heart Association CPR training.
Participants receive CPR certification.
Boot camp prepares participants to move on into the Dallas Mentor's core program.
CORE Program:
The Core Program is a nine month training program. Each month an apprentice is paired with a senior Mentor who trains the apprentice for the month. At the month's end, the apprentice rotates to a new mentor.
The Mentors were carefully chosen for their unique lifestyle and proven abilities. The idea is to provide a broad introduction to the different evolving cultures within the BDSM world.
Each mentor has agreed to share their particular perspective of the lifestyle they live, teach a skill (such as bondage, fire play, etc.) and the specific safety issues and techniques that concern that skill. In addition, each Mentor has agreed to teach their personal passion to the apprentice.
Also included in the Core program is a submisives study module. All apprentices must participate in the subs-Panel discussion group. This day long program introduces submissives who work with dominants who to understand the submissives perspective and issues.
WRAP UP
The nine month "one-on-one" training concludes with a session by a set of Mentors who address intermediate and advanced topics. Topics include: BDSM Ethics and Leadership in the BDSM community.
